Thus ensued an unraveling process for the individual, away from the world of appearances, towards Truth. Inspired by Socrates and in celebration of World Philosophy Day, a bunch of us Lovers of Wisdom created Philo-café. We aspire to conduct a similar Socratic dialogue, to bring together …

It is a group that is inclusive of all genres of creative writing. It aims at reviving the old tradition of writers' cafes where writers meet, discuss all trends of writing and where some of the most brightest ideas can accidently spark the creation of great art and writing works. The cafe mostly addresses the local writers but does not mind the presence, support and applications for membership from other creative bodies from other parts of massachusetts, USA and other parts of the world.

Woo abounds here in the Hudson Valley. Come escape to reality and drink skeptically with some like-minded folks. Haven't nailed down a venue yet, but hoping to make it a monthly thing, and if there is enough interest but everyone is spread out throughout the Valley I think having it "float" between towns might make it easier for all interested. Ideas for venues welcome!
It often seems that the interesting events are in Boston or Cambridge. For many of us it means dealing with traffic, parking or trains. Wouldn't it be nice to have events nearby? Most likely they already do exist but we are not aware of them. This could be a great place to share your event and/or learn about other events. This Meetup is new and the webpage is under construction. Please give us time to grow and also feedback. Better yet volunteer to be an event host!
